Application Details:

‘Shobha Seth Wenger’ Distinguished Chair in Gynecologic Oncology under “Mira Seth Corpus Fund”

Preamble: Mira Seth Corpus Fund has donated money to AIIMS to establish chair in Gynaecologic Oncology.

Purpose of the endowed chair: This prestigious Chair will be awarded to a Senior Faculty/Scientist from AIIMS, New Delhi who has an outstanding track record in the field of Gynaecologic Oncology. 

Procedure of Selection: The applications will be evaluated by the Scientific Advisory Committee of the AIIMS Endowment. The final selection will be done by the Executive Council of AIIMS Endowment Fund under the Chairmanship of Director, AIIMS.

Duration of Chair: The Chair will be established for a term of 2 years. The term may be extendable based on the two year review and as deemed fit by the Executive Council of AIIMS Endowment Fund.

Expectations from the Awardee: The awardee of the Chair is expected to contribute to the development of the specialty concerned. His/her involvement in research/patient care should help in capacity building and inspire younger faculty. The conduct of the awardee should be befitting to the prestige of endowed chair and he/she should act as a brand ambassador for the institute. As part of this award a research project has to be completed over the two year period.

Research Corpus: Besides the prestige associated with the award of the endowed chair, a research grant of approximately Rs. 7.5 lakhs per year will be given.
The grant may be utilized for consumables/minor equipment/manpower (as per AIIMS norms)
