Travel Scholarships
Through a grant from Infosys Foundation, AIIMS Endowment Fund provides partial support for participation and presentation in international conferences. There are 60 travel fellowships available per annum.
Grant summary:
USA, Australia, and New Zealand: INR 80,000/-
Europe, Japan: INR 60,000/-
Asia: INR 40,000/-
Who can apply:
Any of the following can apply if they follow the criteria listed below
- MBBS students
- students
- Junior residents
- Senior residents (Non Academic)
- Senior residents (Academic)
- DM/MCh/Fellowship students
- D students
- Research project staff
Eligibility criteria:
- The research work to be presented must have been carried out by the candidate while working at AIIMS. This should be certified by the guide.
- The applicant should be the first or, second author or, corresponding author.
- The research work must have been accepted for presentation in a conference (poster or oral)
- The application must be forwarded and recommended by the guide and the head of the department.
- He/she must not accept any grant from a private organization.
- He/she can take partial support from other government funding agencies.
- Participation in a training program or a workshop (without any research presentation) is not considered for this support under this travel grant.
- This travel fellowship is for international conferences and not for national conferences.
Application Details:
How to apply: The applications are received online in the Research Section throughout the year ( http://researchsubmission.aiims.edu)
Award process: The travel fellowship meeting is held once in 2 months (1st week of Feb/April/June/Aug/Oct and Dec) and the application process is kept rolling without any last dates. The applications are screened and shortlisted by the scientific advisory committee of the AIIMS Endowment Fund. The final selection is done by the executive council of the fund. Successful candidates have to submit a statement of expenditure and details of the partial funding received from other sources, certificate of attendance etc. on return from the conference.
