First annual AIIMS research day was celebrated on 26th March 2019.
- Prof. MK Bhan was the Chief Guest and delivered the AIIMS Diamond Jubilee Oration.
- A total of 423 abstracts were received across all categories of students and residents. They were reviewed by screening committees of faculty members and the top 3 abstracts were selected for oral presentations while the remaining were put in the poster category. Prizes were awarded to the best oral papers and posters in various categories (MBBS, MSc., PhD, JR, SR).

The highlight of the Research Day was panel discussion on “Building Medical Research Trajectory in India” by the Secretaries of DBT, DST, and ICMR-DHR along with Dr. V.K. Paul (member, Niti Aayog) along with Dr. Randeep Guleria, Director, AIIMS. The panel discussion was moderated by Prof. Rakesh Aggarwal, Director, JIPMER, Puducherry.
A booklet titled “Research at AIIMS” and a “Directory of Research Interests of Faculty and Scientists” at AIIMS have been published for wider publicity of AIIMS research activities.
